Breadmaking Lessons

Have you always wanted to master the art of making artisan bread? Or, have you made a start but want to work out how to fix those little issue that cause bread to come out too heavy? Maybe you just want to expand your repertoire.

Well, breadmaking lessons at Ashleigh Farm is your answer. With a maximum of only four people per lesson (so very personalised teaching) and a delicious light lunch, you’ll be sure to have a relaxing, yet fun day. You don't have to be staying at Ashleigh Farm to book onto one of our breadmaking lessons. We have a number of local (and not so local) people joining us too. So, why not get booked in today?

Upcoming Lessons

Monday 20th April 2026 – Bread Basics – Learn to make a basic loaf (white, wholemeal & granary), bread rolls, bloomers and tin loaves.

Monday 18th May 2026 – Speciality Breads – Learn to make a choice of French baguettes, ciabatta focaccia, fougasse, breadsticks and/or soda bread.

Monday 15th June 2026 – Sourdough & Starter Uses – Learn to create a starter and learn to keep it going. Learn to make a basic sourdough, and a choice of doughnuts, challah (like a bagal) and/or croissants.

Monday 13th July 2026 – Bread Basics – Learn to make a basic loaf (white, wholemeal & granary), bread rolls, bloomers and tin loaves.

Monday 21st September 2026 – Speciality Breads – Learn to make a choice of French baguettes, ciabatta focaccia, fougasse, breadsticks and/or soda bread.

Monday 19th October 2026 – Sourdough & Starter Uses – Learn to create a starter and learn to keep it going. Learn to make a basic sourdough, and a choice of doughnuts, challah (like a bagal) and/or croissants.

All Lessons start at 9.30am and end around about 2.30pm except for the Sourdough lesson which ends at approximately 3.30pm. The cost of all lessons is £100 per person. If all four places are booked together, you’ll receive a discount of £10 per person.

If these dates don't suit you, you're welcome to book a bespoke lesson on a date to suit you in which you can learn to make a combination of any three of the breads listed or you can add breads such as gluten free bread and cakes, breads with bits in or sweet breads. Lessons are still charged at £100 per person, although there is a minimum charge of £200 for the day, so you may as well bring a friend or two along. There can be a maximum of 4 people attend each lesson. All lessons are suitable for adults and children who are able to reasonably reach normal kitchen worktop height.

All ingredients, equipment and recipe books are included and you’ll also receive ongoing support through messages or video calls to ensure you continue to develop your skills even once you get home. Don’t forget to bring something to take your bakes away with you in!
